Sofia Motor Show 2015: Premiere of the new Peugeot 208
The official premiere of the new Peugeot 208 in Bulgaria will take place at the 2015 Sofia Motor Show from 17 to 25 October. At the Sofia France Auto booth in Hall 4, visitors will be able to see the new model in fiery orange. Power.
The new PEUGEOT 208 features a sportier and more stylish design, highlighted by 3D LED taillights (standard equipment), original colors such as brilliant Orange Power and a new range of customization options. The range has been expanded with the GT Line and GTi by PEUGEOT Sport, which highlight the brand's move into the luxury market. Additional equipment is available to facilitate driving in urban areas (active city brake, MirrorScreen, rear view camera, parking assistance system). PureTech and BlueHDi meet the latest Euro 6 emission standard thanks to the extremely economical 1.6 BlueHDi 100 S&S engine that consumes just 3L/100km and emits just 79g/km CO2! It was with this engine that the production car Peugeot 208 set a new record for low fuel consumption over long distances, held under the control of the French organization UTAC (Technical Union of Automobiles, Motorcycles and Bicycles). 2152 km were covered with 43 liters of diesel fuel, which corresponds to an average consumption of 2.0 l / 100 km. This record confirms the technological superiority of the Euro 6 BlueHDi diesel engines and their contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
Chic exterior design with a strong personality
The new PEUGEOT 208 immediately impresses with its new and unique style.
The new front bumper is sharper, more precise and muscular. The wider grille and thinner chrome surround are now fully integrated into the bumper, as if sculpted as one piece. They speak of PEUGEOT quality and durability. Combined with individual fog lamps, this new identity transforms the car, giving it a wider and more dynamic driving position, instantly inviting the driver to take the wheel.
The new style is accentuated at the front by new headlights with a two-tone mask in chrome and black, structuring the light block for a more dynamic look, and above it the LED lamp identification, ownership and technology mark. These new headlights are standard on the second level of equipment.
At the rear, they captivate and surprise the taillights with their new 3D LED nails. Their opal red color and strong three-dimensional effect make them real technological jewellery. These lanterns with three lion claw marks are used everywhere.
Latest generation equipment
The PEUGEOT 208 was one of the first vehicles in the segment to offer widely available touch technology and connectivity, with its large 7-inch screen that fits over 80% of the versions sold since the model's launch. It's also one of the few hatchbacks in the segment to offer Park Assist, an active parking assist system that allows you to park your car, as well as automatic parking exit as an option.
Today, the new PEUGEOT 208 maintains this leadership by offering two new systems related to the use of city cars: Active City Brake and a reversing camera.
Active City Brake (Automatic Stop in Built-up Areas at Risk of Collision) is a new system that avoids accidents or reduces the force of a collision if the driver does not react, in built-up areas and at high speeds. below 30 km/h
The reversing camera, available as an option on the second level of equipment, uses a large color screen and facilitates daily parking maneuvers. The driver assistant outlines the dimensions and trajectory of the car with colored lines, making maneuvering safe and easy.
New ultra-efficient engines
1.6 BlueHDi: the best diesel on the market...clean and simple!
BlueHDi technology has been proven to be the most efficient diesel emission control system on the market. Combining the best of diesel fuel with innovative technologies in CO2 reduction and fuel consumption - just below 95 g/km CO2 - these new engines make the 1.6-litre BlueHDi family the best diesel engines on the market!
With the exception of the basic version with 75 hp, they are all equipped with the Stop & Start system. The model range includes the 1.6 BlueHDi 100 S&S, with which the PEUGEOT 208 production car has driven 38 hours, traveled 2152 km and consumed only 43 liters of fuel, which is an average consumption of 2.0 l / 100 km. The new PEUGEOT 208 thus sets the absolute record for low fuel consumption over long distances in a production vehicle.
PureTech 3-cylinder petrol engine
Following the introduction of the naturally aspirated 1.0 PureTech 68 and 1.2 PureTech 82 engines, the PureTech 3-cylinder engine family expanded with the turbocharged version of the 1.2 PureTech 110 S&S. The 1.2 PureTech engine received the 2015 International Engine of the Year award in the 1.0 to 1.4 liter category on June 17 during the 17th International Engine of the Year Awards organized by British edition of Engine Technology International in Stuttgart, Germany.
New colors
The palette of colors and paints (matt, metallic, pearl) available for the new PEUGEOT 208 has been expanded. With a rich and varied palette of 13 colors, it satisfies the growing demand from customers looking for individuality and exclusivity.
The new metallic Orange POWER is dynamic and fresh. This very modern and cheerful color, with its bright radiance, gives great importance to the car and the driver.
Added to this dynamic color are two textured sand effect colors that are original in design and look: Ice Gray and Ice Silver. This is a real innovation that is clearly different from the traditional paints on offer.
These colors have several advantages:
- They are distinctive and of high quality. With their satin matte effect, they emphasize the lines of the car, enhancing the dynamism and modernity of the new PEUGEOT 208. Playing with light, these colors respond strongly to changes in light, unlike matte colors that tend to smooth out curves and hide shapes;
- Their structure, slightly grainy to the touch, immediately gives the impression of a strong and protected vehicle. They are more resistant to weather conditions and easier to care for than conventional matte paints, have good resistance to micro-scratches, require frequent washing - with a steam jet or rotating rollers (without pasteurization);
- These distinctive colors, usually available for small runs, limited editions or as a very expensive handmade option (up to 6000 euros!), are now available at a price identical to pearl paint. In Europe, the price is below 800 euros, which is 180-200 euros more than metallic paint.
